My Top 10 Pick of the Dumbest Political Quotes of 2010

Since 2010 is coming to an end I decided to go back over the past year and post my Top 10 picks of stupid quotes from some stupid people, first list was made using Gods special education team itself, our politicians. Hope you enjoy! Next I think I'll do news reporters that should be an easy one.

10.''This was a war of Obama's choosing. This is not something the United States has actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in.''
—Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, rewriting history while speaking at a Connecticut fundraiser about the war in Afghanistan, which President Bush launched following the 9/11 terrorist attacks (July 2, 2010)

9.''Another thing we can do for jobs is make toys of me, especially for the holidays. Little dolls. Me. Like maybe little action dolls. Me in an army uniform, air force uniform, and me in my suit. They can make toys of me and my vehicle, especially for the holidays and Christmas for the kids. That's something that would create jobs. So you see I think out of the box like that. It's not something a typical person would bring up. That's something that could happen, that makes sense. It's not a joke.''
—South Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Alvin Greene, interview with The Guardian, July 6, 2010

8.''I'm telling you that this works. You know, before we all started having health care, in the olden days, our grandparents, they would bring a chicken to the doctor. They would say, 'I'll paint your house.' I mean, that's the old days of what people would do to get health care with your doctors. Doctors are very sympathetic people. I'm not backing down from that system.''

—Sue Lowden, Republican Senate candidate in Nevada, articulating her vision of how the American health care system should work, interview on Nevada Newsmakers, April 19, 2010

7.''Do you know, where does this phrase 'separation of church and state' come from? It was not in Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists. ... The exact phrase 'separation of Church and State' came out of Adolph Hitler's mouth, that's where it comes from. So the next time your liberal friends talk about the separation of Church and State ask them why they're Nazis.''

—Glen Urquhart, the Tea Party-backed Republican nominee for the Delaware House seat held by Rep. Mike Castle, April 2010

6.''My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.''

—Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) expressing concern during a congressional hearing that the presence of a large number of American soldiers might upend the island of Guam

5.''The Middle East is obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries.''

—President Obama, Tampa, Fla., Jan. 28, 2010

4.''I'm ashamed of what happened in the White House yesterday. I think it is a tragedy in the first proportion that a private corporation can be subjected to what I would characterize as a shakedown -- in this case a $20 billion shakedown ... I'm only speaking for myself. I'm not speaking for anyone else, but I apologize. I do not want to live in a county where anytime a citizen or a corporation does something that is legitimately wrong, [it is] subject to some sort of political pressure that, again, in my words, amounts to a shakedown.''

—Rep. Joe Barton (R-Tex.) during a congressional hearing with BP CEO Tony Hayward, referring to a $20 billion fund for damages that President Obama pressured BP to set up to pay for the Gulf oil spill. Barton, the biggest recipient of oil and gas industry campaign contributions in the House of Representatives, was later forced by Republican leaders to apologize for his BP apology.

3.''The Girl Scouts allow homosexuals and atheists to join their ranks, and they have become a pro-abortion, feminist training corps. If the Girl Scouts of America can't get back to teaching real character, perhaps it will be time to look for our cookies elsewhere.''
—Hans Zeiger, Republican candidate for Congress in Washinton state, on the deep moral threat to our country's dainty youth posed by the Girl Scouts of America

2.''We needed to have the press be our friend ... We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.''
—Nevada Republican Senate nominee and Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle, during an interview with Fox News Channel's Carl Cameron, Aug. 2, 2010

1.''But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies.''

—Sarah Palin, on how she would handle the current hostilities between the two Koreas, radio interview with Glenn Beck, Nov. 23, 2010

  1. I love this. I find it hard to believe these are the people running our country. Although they are just a puppet for the people behind them that are probably actually running things anyway.

  2. you just made me lose a little more faith in humainty

  3. wow.... my god*face palm*

  4. Have you seen the video of George Bush before he was elected? All the things he said, how he acted.. It's like they gave him permanent doses of Halidol or something after he was in office, complete change...

  5. #4 was the most honest and principled thing any US politician said all year. Shame he backed down.

Worst of the year was Pelosi's "we have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it". Just f*cking evil.

  6. oh, few politicians are smart, all other are dumb as dumbest thing on world, i dont like em

  7. raged at sarah palin... this lady should be shot into space... i think the guy in #6 was making a metaphor

  8. *Sigh*

The stupidity of people is amazing. And these bloody people are running our country. But then again, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Stupid people elect stupid leaders. That's why I take the George Carlin approach and don't vote. That way, if shit goes to hell, I can just stand back and say "Look at the mess you made".

  9. These quotes are funny but saddening at the same time.

  10. 6.''My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.''

    Hahahha thats funny

I cant believe they didnt remove sarah palin from office yet.. wtf is she doing in politics anyway??? she's dumb and unresourceful

  11. These people seriously need a slap across the face.

  12. It's a tie between 7 and 3. Anything coming out of the mouth of a tea bagger is just gold. Any threats to the girl scouts? priceless.

  13. Most are funny but some (#2) scare me.

  14. how does sarah palin still have a job, let alone one of such importance.

  15. Seems Sarah Pallin took the prize here :P

  16. At least Sarah Palin provides comedy value...albeit embarrassing herself in almost everything she says.

  17. i too am concerned that the island will become too populated and tip over.. haha what a retard.

  18. ''But obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies.''

was definitly the stupidest thing utterd this year

  19. seriously, quotes 7,3 & 2 are OMG/FACEPALM worthy.

  20. This is great stuff, nicely done.

  21. I think Sarah Palin is like Gary Busey. No one can be THAT retarded.
